JAMMU, Mar 13: General Administration Department today asked all the departments to abstain from directly approaching the Chief Electoral Officer for seeking clarifications on the Model Code of Conduct and other election related issues.
In a communiqué, the GAG said that as per the procedures, Heads of the Departments seeking clarifications from another department are required to route such requests through the concerned Administrative Departments. “Any clarification from the Election Department should be obtained through the concerned Administrative Departments and not directly”, the circular said.
The GAD has impressed upon all the Administrative Secretaries to issue instructions to their subordinate departments to abstain from approaching the Election Department at their own. “While seeking such clarifications, the GAD be invariably kept posted”, the circular further said.
