
75 OBC Morcha activists pledge to donate organs

JAMMU, Sept 19: BJP OBC Morcha marked the 75th birthday celebrations of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in a humanitarian way by organizing a Body Organs Donation Camp in collaboration with the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO), Jammu and Kashmir at BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
J&K BJP president, Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated the camp. BJP vice-president, Priya Sethi, district president, Rajesh Gupta, president, BJP OBC Morcha, Braham Jyot Satti, Ravi Kant, Suneet Raina, Keshav Chopra and others were present on the occasion.
A dedicated medical team led by Elias Sharma (Nodal Officer, SOTTO J&K and HOD Urology SSH, GMC Jammu), Anshu Sharma (Consultant IEC/Media, SOTTO J&K), Irfan Ahmad Lone (Transplant Coordinator, SOTTO J&K), Nisha Kumari (Data Entry Operator, SOTTO J&K), and supporting staff Ashok Singh and Ashwini Kumar (drivers) also participated in the event. In a remarkable gesture of service, the medical staff themselves came forward to pledge their body organs for donation.
BJP senior leaders, including 75 OBC activists of BJP OBC Morcha pledged to donate their body organs during the camp, making this the largest organ donation programme so far organized by any political or social organization in Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma praised the efforts of BJP OBC Morcha for organizing such a life-saving initiative. He asked all to donate blood while they live, and organs when they die. He termed this as the biggest contribution one can make to society and called for more donors who can give a new lease of life to those in need of transplant.
Sharma said that such noble gestures are the true reflection of Prime Minister, Modi Ji’s vision of service. He highlighted the need for more awareness about organ and eye donation across society.
Priya Sethi lauded the OBC Morcha for celebrating the Prime Minister’s birthday with such a noble cause. She said that donating organs is the highest form of service one can render to society, which ensures that even after our lifetime, we continue to live through others by giving them hope and life.
She further said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has always inspired people to engage in service-oriented programs under Seva Pakhwada and by choosing organ donation, BJP OBC Morcha has set an example for society.
Braham Jyot Satti, who led the initiative, said that the decision to organize an organ donation camp was a conscious effort to link Seva Pakhwada with a life-saving cause.
He said that they wanted to celebrate the birthday of PM in a way that directly serves humanity. “Donating organs is the biggest gift a person can given even after life, we can become a reason for the someone else’s survival”, he said.
