Dogri to be celebrated at Kolkata Lit Fest

JAMMU, Jan 15: People across Kolkata will be acquainted with the power of Dogri literature through the works of Kunwar Viyogi during the three-day Apeejay Kolkata Lit Fest, to be held in the City of Joy on Jan 17-19.
Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust has collaborated with Apeejay Kolkata Lit Fest as its session partner for 2020 to celebrate the works of the Sahitya Akademi Awardee with the distinguished panelists comprising of renowned authors, writers, activists, academicians and poets like Anuradha Bhagwati, Karuna Ezara Parikh and Ayushman Jamwal, Dr Garima Gupta, Pinaki De and Sufia Khatoon.
A series of panel discussions on issues like Poetry in Social Media Era, Feminism: Force of Change and Can Comics be Modern Mythology will be held at iconic literary hubs of Kolkata – the Allen Park and Oxford Book Store, while people will also be treated with Dogri music on all three days in a live jam session.
Apart from organising various contests and on spot activities, Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust will also be launching its first Bangla Literary Award – Kunwar Viyogi Protsahon Puroskar at the Apeejay Kolkata Lit Fest. Indo-fusion instrumental band – Adbhutam, comprising of young and enthusiastic artists will coon Kunwar Viyogi’s sonnets in English for the people of Bengal while singer Rohan Tiwari will lend voice to the writer’s Dogri songs.
