JAMMU, Dec 14: Two Dogri and one Hindi children’s books, authored by Krishna Prem, a noted writer devoted to enriching literature with creativity, values and sensitivity, were released by Dogri Sanstha Jammu, here today.
The released books were “Koshish Karne Walon Ki Kabhi Haar Nahin Hoti”, “Kundli Udaari”, and “Indradhanush”, which reflect the author’s deep understanding of children’s psychology and her effort to inspire young readers through meaningful stories and poems.
The programme was presided over by Padma Shri Prof Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha Jammu. In his presidential address, he observed that children’s literature lays the foundation of a society’s moral and cultural consciousness. He appreciated Krishna Prem for addressing young minds through positive narratives and imaginative expression.
The chief guest on the occasion, Ashok Angurana – retired IAS officer and a well-known Dogri writer, remarked that writing for children is a demanding literary genre which requires sincerity, responsibility and emotional depth. He also lauded Dogri Sanstha Jammu for its consistent efforts in promoting literary activities in the region.
The guest of honour, Padma Shri Dr Jitendra Udhampuri described the books as colourful and value-oriented creations that encourage curiosity, optimism and creativity among children. He added that such writings are crucial in today’s times when children are increasingly exposed to digital distractions.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Prem expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dogri Sanstha Jammu for providing a prestigious platform for the release of her books. She shared that her primary aim in writing for children is to instil confidence, moral strength and joy through simple language and relatable themes. She emphasized that literature can become a guiding companion for children if it speaks to them with warmth and honesty.
A detailed paper on the books was presented by Prof Veena Gupta, Vice President, Dogri Sanstha Jammu, who highlighted the educational relevance, thematic richness and child-friendly language of the works.
The programme was conducted by Pawan Verma, while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Veena Gupta.
