JAMMU, Feb 14: In a proud cultural milestone for the Indian community, three music albums by Jammu-based flautist Naresh Sharma were formally released at the General Consulate of India in Australia during a special cultural programme titled ‘Sahitya Sandhya’.
The albums Old Retro Flute Mashup, Dogri Mashup Bhajan and Flute Mashup, beautifully showcase a blend of classical melody and contemporary arrangements, highlighting the richness of Dogri and Himachali musical traditions. The compositions received warm appreciation from attendees, including members of the Indian diaspora and Australian guests.
The event was graced by Dr Subash Sharma as the chief guest. The programme was organized by Ravi Sharma and Prashant Tandon, who played a key role in promoting the cultural evening and providing an international platform to regional Indian music.
The musical arrangements were crafted by Varun Kumar, a talented student of Naresh Sharma. His contribution added remarkable depth, harmony, and freshness to the performances, enhancing the overall musical experience.
The event turned into a memorable celebration of Indian heritage abroad. The cultural exchange was described as both inspiring and unforgettable.
Notably, one of the recordings was received from Jammu just a day prior to the event, adding a special emotional touch to the release ceremony.
