SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Taking cognizance of concern being expressed by a section of Dogri writers with respect to representation of the language on Central Committee of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the Academy has initiated process for co-option of a representative of Dogri language for its Central Committee from among the already nominated members of the General Council representing the language.
Giving details, Secretary, JKAACL, Dr Aziz Hajini said that he has already mooted a proposal for co-option of a representative of Dogri language on the Central Committee from among the nominated members of the General Council.
“This has been done to address the concern of Dogri writers,” Hajini said and added that the proposal shall consequently be placed before the General Council of JKAACL for ratification in terms of Article 15(vi) of Constitution of the Academy read with Article 12.
It may be recalled that the Excelsior had exclusively reported on the issue of no-representation to Dogri language in the decision making Central Committee of JKAACL, following which Dogri Sanstha and several Jammu based intellectuals had raised their voice against alleged discriminatory attitude of the Academy.
