JAMMU, Sept 7: Dogra Sadar Sabha organized an interactive session at Katra under the chairmanship Shiv Kumar Sharma (MD, Hotel Basera- Katra, Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council and president J&K India style and Wrestling Association, wherein prominent businessmen, educationists and other prominent citizens participated.
Gulchain Singh Charak former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K along with Maj Gen (Retd) GS Jamwal, Member Advisory committee and G A Khawaja, Retd DC & general secretary Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K participated.
All the participants expressed their views about the present situation in the Kashmir valley and its fall out in Jammu province and suggested various measures.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Charak threw light on the functioning of Dogra Sadar Sabha, especially in such difficult situations to maintain the proper communal harmony and projecting the genuine problems of the people of Jammu Province. He told the gathering about this historical, secular and oldest organization of the State which played an important role for the safety and peaceful atmosphere of the State. While explaining the injustice being done to this region, he said even the Dogra rich heritage and culture being destroyed in a planned manner.
He also appealed to the people of Katra to be vigilant so that the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi doesn’t get disturbed and targeted as if this pilgrimage is disturbed, not only this region but whole of State and north India will suffer.
Maj Gen Jamwal and Mr Khawaja explaining the activities of this historical 116 years old organization (Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K) told the gathering that this Sabha has taken up all the issues like starting of Duggar channel, preservation and restoration of historical Mubarak Mandi Complex remembering the Dogra Heroes by celebrating their Heroic deeds that is their birth anniversaries and martyrdom in a befitting manner.
Shiv Kumar Sharma and RS Manhas explained the prevailing situation especially the effects of Kashmir Turmoil on the Mata Vaishno Devi yatra and urged upon the Central Govt to take immediate necessary steps for making the State Government functional.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Sukhdev Singh, Channay Ram, Shukh Dutt Puri and Ghansara Singh.
