JAMMU, May 26: Doda Migrants Welfare Association (DMWA), Jammu has demanded the Government to restore previous practice of supply of ration to Doda migrants.
The issue came up for discussion in a meeting of the association held here today, in which a large number of migrants from Doda district participated. The meeting expressed concerned over the latest move of the concerned authorities which reciprocated the schedule of disbursement of ration to the Doda migrants by disbursing 9 kg atta and 2 kg rice instead of previous practice of disbursing 9 kg rice and 2 kg atta.
The meeting appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter seriously and restore the previous practice of disbursement of ration. It was also demanded to take immediate steps to enhance the cash relief of the Doda migrants from Rs 4000 to Rs 10000 as per High Court Order.
