DODA, Sept 17: The Union Ministry of Communication, in a report, stated that J&K’s District Doda has emerged as the best performing districts of Jammu Zone in the recovery of lost and stolen mobile phones.
Quoting this report, Doda Police stated that a team of Cyber Police Station Doda led by Inspector Surinder Veer and PSI Ankush Nagra (Nodal CEIR) under the supervision of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta solved online fraud cases recovering the defrauded money amounting to Rs. 8,00,835.
The team also recovered 57 lost mobile phones whose estimated value is around Rs. 8,87,715.
In a press conference, SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta said during the course of investigation, Cyber Police Station team, exhibited hectic efforts and used advanced technical skills with the help of ESU unit lead by PSI Sahil Kumar which ultimately led to the recovery of defrauded money and lost mobile phones.
Mehta handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners at District Police Headquarters Doda.
He reiterated his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report promptly to the National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of lost/stolen mobile phones report on www.ceir.gov.in.
