JAMMU, Mar 31: A comprehensive book in Dogri on the cultural history of Basohli entitled ‘Basohli Darshan’ written by a noted writer of Dogri and historian Shiv Doblia was released today at an impressive function organized by Dogri Sanstha at KL Saigal Hall of JK Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
The book based on extensive research work, incorporates 13 chapters covering almost every facet of Basohli including its geographical, anthropological, historical, cultural, folk, religious and social features.
An introductory review on 203-page Dogri book, by Prof Shiv Nirmohi, a renowned writer and culture-historian was presented on this occasion.
Speaking on this occasion Shiv Doblia said that he is proud of being a son of Basohli which has special place in Jammu and Kashmir owing to its rich culture and commanding position in the history of this region.
Dr BS Pathania, Director Health Services Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Shiv Doblia has done Herculean task to compile the cultural evolution of three centuries in ‘Basohli Darshan.
Chhatrapal, president of Dogri Sanstha, was also present on the occasion.
