JAMMU, Oct 29: A delegation of Durga Nagar Welfare Coordination Committee (DNWCC) comprising of leading members Sanjay Ganjoo, M. K. Razdhan, C. L. Dhar, and Ashwani Kak and Ravinder Bhan met S E and other officers of Jal Shakti Department.
The delegation apprised him of the acute and irregular drinking water supply being faced by the residents of Durga Nagar. They highlighted the frequent leakages in old and worn-out supply pipelines, resulting in both wastage of water and erratic supply and stressed on enhancement of the water storage capacity in the area by constructing an additional reservoir of at least two lakh gallons.
The delegation suggested reviving the defunct Tubewell near Durga Nagar Park as an ideal site for this proposed reservoir
requested SE to personally look into this matter. They also requested him to ensure better synchronization between Civil and Mechnical wings.
The issue of the faulty water lifting motor at the Muthi Gaon Pumping Station, which remains under warranty was raised. The officer issued directions to concerned staff for immediate remedial measures.
