JAMMU, June 13: Displaced Kashmiri Front (DKF) has strongly condemned the decision of the State Cabinet deferring the proposal of the Social Welfare Department on extending the benefit of backward area/actual line of control to the Kashmiri migrants.
In a meeting, which was presided by Satish Pajnoo, president, Displaced Kashmiri Front said that they have failed to understand the proposal which has been approved by Social Welfare Department and the Law Department, the main agencies of the State Government. He said that Coalition Government led by Omar Abdullah has failed on all fronts to redress and mitigate the genuine problems of Kashmiri Pandits.
The DKF impressed upon the State Government that Kashmiri Pandit community didn’t leave their place on their own but were forced to vacate their homes and hearths to save their dignity and honour.
The meeting added that for their selfish motives, they always consider the migrants as the original residents of Kashmir, when there is election time the political parties particularly the National Conference and Congress come at the door steps of the KPs begging for votes.
The Front strongly urged the State Government to grant RBA right to Kashmiri migrants without any delay. The intentions of the Government are highly inflammatory and provoking by saying that granting of RBA/ALC status to deserving KPs will cause heart burning among others and opening of Pandora’s box. This is highly shameful of responsible Government.
Other who addressed the meeting included P N Pandit, J C Pandita, M L Bhat, T K Dhar, Anil Dhar, B N Bhat, Veerji Rana etc.
