Div Com reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha

JAMMU, Oct  23: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta on Monday convened a meeting of officers and reviewed the necessary arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha Namaz at Eidgah and other Masjids.
The Divisional Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments. He asked for maintaining better coordination among the departments and other concerned agencies, Auqaf and Masjid Committees for smooth and successful conduct of this religious event.
The Divisional Commissioner directed PDD and PHE Department to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply on Eid-ul-Azha besides asking the concerned officers to ensure proper sanitation in and around the Eidgah and other mosques. He directed CAPD to keep a strict vigil on the rates of meat and chicken and their quality.
Gupta stressed on ensuring proper security arrangements and asked the concerned committees to provide volunteers for assisting the police in this regard. He directed the Traffic Department to ensure proper traffic management to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.
The Divisional Commissioner expressed hope that the festival will bring peace and harmony in the State and will be celebrated with essence of amity and brotherhood.
Meanwhile, he also discussed arrangements for Dusshera Festival to be held on October 24.
Among others, District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, DIG Jammu J. P. Singh, Chief Engineer PDD Shenaz Goni, Chief Engineer R&B Tahseen Mustafa, Joint Director Information Jammu Soujanya Sharma, other senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
