REASI, Feb 16: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu, who is also the Chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, today inaugurated Shiv Khori Mela here today.
The three-day Mela is being jointly organized by Tourism Department, Shiv Khori Shrine Board and District Administration, Reasi.
On the inaugural function, a procession was taken out in the town up to Darshani Deodi.
The Divisional Commissioner, in his address, said that administration is taking steps to promote tourism in Reasi and adjoining areas by creating necessary infrastructure including speedy development of Shiv Khori and other heritage spots in the district to attract tourists. He further added that the aim is to attract the Vaishno Devi pilgrims to these spots.
He added that Ransoo area will be developed on eco- friendly basis to give it green cover.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Sushma Chouhan informed that district administration is working on tourist circuit, in order to attract more tourists to the district and appreciated the role of people for their coordination for the successful conduct of inaugural function.
Director Tourism, Jammu gave a detailed resume of various developmental activities taken up in the area for the facility of the yatries.
MLA-Elect, Reasi-Ajay Nanda, and other senior officers of all other departments, prominent people of the Ransoo town and thousands of devotees were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner inaugurated employment fair at Ransoo organized by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Reasi.
On the occasion various departments have established their stalls for providing awareness to the unemployed educated youth for setting up their own income generating units. Divisional Commissioner said that these types of fairs are beneficial to guide the unemployed people.
The experts of various departments also acquainted the youth with the policies and programmes being launched to overcome the unemployment problems.
District Employment and Counselling Centre, Reasi also distributed forms of various recruitments of Centre and State Governments among the unemployed youth of the district.
