SAMBA, Dec. 4: In order to review the poll preparedness of District Samba which is going to poll on Dec 14, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, chaired a high level meeting of Senior Civil Officers, Police Officers and officers of paramilitary forces here today.
Divisional Commissioner reviewed in detail the election arrangements in the district, which included security related issues, transport plan, communication plan and coordination among different executing agencies, for ensuring free, fair, smooth and trouble- free conduct of elections. He also interacted with the Zonal and Sector Magistrates and called for coordinated approach to deal with any sort of exigencies during poll process. He asked the District Election Officers to ensure medical facilities to polling parties in far flung areas.
IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar also interacted with officers and emphasized on adhering to Security grid and procedures, while staying extra vigilant during the visits of VVIPs in the district in the coming days.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Shakeel A Baig DIG JK Range, Anil Magotra SSP Samba, Vivek Sharma ADDC, Inderjeet ADC, and senior officers of civil and police administration.
Earlier, District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Samba, Mubarak Singh gave a detailed account of the activities and preparations of the District regarding Communication plan, Training Management Plan, Material Management Plan, MCC Management, Transport Plan and Expenditure Management in the district in a power point presentation. The meeting was also informed about training of polling personnel, appointment and training of sector and zonal magistrates, randomization of polling personnel and EVMs, web casting/videography of Hypersensitive/ Critical polling stations, basic minimum facilities at polling stations and expenditure monitoring.
It was further informed that there are 259 polling stations in two constituencies, 128 in 68-Samba constituency and 131 in 69-Vijaypur constituency having 54 Model Polling Station in two constituencies. 100 polling stations have been identified for web casting, 71 for video and still photography.
