JAMMU, Jan 24: District Bar Association Chandigarh and Aryans College of Law jointly organized a seminar on Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in Chandigarh today.
A statement said Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of College, Rajpura, Chandigarh, was the chief guest on the occasion while as Advocate Parminder Singh, Secretary, District Bar Association Chandigarh was the guest of the honour.
Dr Nancy Sharma, Asst Professor, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the keynote speaker.
In her address, Dr Sharma discussed in detail the BNS, BNSS, and BSA 2023, which replaced IPC 1860, CrPC 1973, and IEA 1872.
Dr Anshu Kataria discussed key features of the BNS and also about the various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to raise awareness about the new laws.
In his concluding remarks, Advocate Parminder Singh thanked Aryan Group for organizing the seminar.
He expressed gratitude to Dr Nancy Sharma, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Legal Studies, Punjab University, Chandigarh for the session on IPC.
