JAMMU, Feb 16: Continuing with the drive against Drug abuse and menace of drugs in the society, District Jammu  police organized a painting competition in JK Police Public School Miran Sahib, under the aegis of Civic Action Programme-2015, today.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was SSP Jammu Uttam Chand. Besides, presence of galaxy of dignitaries, respectable persons of the area, Sarpanches, Panches were also present. The Principal of School Kiran Raina welcomed the participants and appreciated the move of the J&K Police in reaching out to the students, and sensitizing them on the evils of drug abuse in the society.
A total of 130 students of different schools & institutes participated both senior and junior categories. The jury on the occasion was  K K Gandhi, renowned artist of the State of national and international repute and  Jagpal Singh, senior artist.
In Junior category, Ist prize was won by Esha Bhagat of APS Miransahib, 2nd prize by Kartik Azad of JK Police Public School Miran Sahib and 3rd prize won by Prachi Bhagat of JK Police Public School Miran Sahib. The Ist consolation prize was won by Mamta Devi of Government Girl Higher  Secondary School, R S Pura and 2nd consolation prize by Manpreet Kaur of APS Miransahib.
In Senior category, Ist  prize was won by Abhinandam Sharma of  JK Police Public School Miran Sahib,  2nd prize by  Sonali Choudhary of JK Police Public School Miran Sahib and 3rd prize by Manmeet Kaur of JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib. Besides this, 1st consolation prize was won by Tabassum Gaffor of JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib & 2nd by Tarun Sabarwal of Jammu Sanskriti School Bishnah
While speaking on the occasion, S Randheer Singh, SP Hqrs Jammu reiterated that under the directions of Police Headquarters, Jammu Police is committed to have a drug free society, and every effort is being made to channelize energies of youths in a positive direction.
