UDHAMPUR, May 16: The Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Udhampur, organized the District-Level Inter-School Competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 boys, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students across the district.
The competitions recorded a total participation of 194 students, including 70 participants in the U-14 category and 124 in the U-17 category. The events were conducted in a disciplined and competitive atmosphere under the supervision of technical officials and departmental staff.
Trials for Basketball in both U-14 and U-17 categories were also conducted at Subash Stadium for the selection of district teams for upcoming inter-district competitions. The young athletes displayed remarkable sportsmanship, dedication and competitive spirit throughout the event.
In the fencing competitions, Dakash Mahajan secured first place in U-14 Epee followed by Swayam Sanotra, Satvik Sharma and Divyansh Sharma. In U-17 Epee, Daksh Verma clinched the top position while Arav Sharma, Samar Partap Singh and Kaustubh Sharma finished among the winners. In U-17 Foil, Rohan Prasher secured first place followed by Kanishik, Danish Singh and Abay Pratap Jamwal, while Shivansh Bamotra emerged winner in U-17 Sabre ahead of Aranav Sharma, Ram Singh and Arsh Singh.
In U-14 Foil, Arvind Sharma secured first place followed by Ikjas Singh, Yuyan Nagar and Aarab Dubey. The U-14 Sabre competition saw Suryansh Sharma claim the top spot while Ridhwan Rajput, Ridhwan Sajjan and Mrigank Sharma secured subsequent positions.
In cycling events, Abhijeet Singh and Tanush Dev Singh secured the top two positions in the U-14 category, while Akshay Goria, Rahul Goria and Naresh Singh emerged winners in the U-17 category.
