District Jammu clinches Provincial Level U-17 Boys Football Title

JAMMU, Aug 12: District Jammu emerged victorious in the Provincial Level Inter-District U-17 Boys Football Tournament, defeating District Kishtwar by 3-0 in the final match held at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, here today. The tournament was organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
The final showcased excellent teamwork, with Krishna, Abhi and Azeem scoring one goal each for District Jammu. The event served as a platform to identify promising young footballers for upcoming competitions.
Sukhdev Raj Sharma appreciated all the participants and encouraged them to uphold sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of such events in nurturing talent and promoting physical fitness among youth.
The tournament was smoothly conducted by departmental experts including Ajay Kumar, Taran Paul Singh, Rohit Gupta, Gurbachan Singh, Rakesh Singh, Varinder Singh and Raman Kumar, alongside various committees and technical officials.
Earlier, in the first semi-final, District Kishtwar defeated District Doda by 2-1. Arif Saleem and Rehan Yaqoob netted goals for Kishtwar, while Rehan scored for Doda. In the second semi-final, District Jammu beat District Poonch by 1-0, with Azeem Ali scoring the decisive goal.
