BUDGAM, Aug 12: The District Budgam Carrom Championship 2025-26 culminated with enthusiasm and competitive spirit at Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam. The event was organised by the District Budgam Carrom Association under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association, as part of the My Youth My Pride initiative by the J&K Sports Council.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mehfooz Aslam (Principal, DPS Budgam), Mudasir Khan (General Secretary, J&K Carrom Association), Abrar Nabi (Organising Secretary) and Bilal Ahmad (Head of Sports, DPS Budgam). The dignitaries applauded the discipline, focus, and talent displayed by the participants and urged them to aim for excellence at state and national levels.
The championship featured intense contests in various categories: Sub-Junior Boys: Samir Lateif (Gold), Mohammad Rafil Sofi (Silver) and Shariq Mushtaq (Bronze), Junior Girls: Zaib Malik (Gold), Syeda Ayesha (Silver) and Saffa Manzoor (Bronze). Junior Boys: Tawheed Nisar (Gold), Suhaib Mehraj (Silver) and Aaban Shabir (Bronze). Senior Boys: Umer Rashid Thakur (Gold), Munsiff Muneer (Silver) and Abdul Basit (Bronze)
Senior Girls: Qariya Ajaz (Gold), Fatima Irfan (Silver) and Fareeha (Bronze). The J&K Carrom Association reaffirmed its dedication to promoting carrom and nurturing grassroots talent across the Union Territory.
