UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: To maintain proper check on the market against over charging especially during the coming festival of Eid Ul Azha a team of the district administration on the directives of DC Udhampur , Niraj Kumar conducted surprise checks in the Udhampur market to ascertain that there is no black marketing and the customers are not being overcharged during the festival.
The team which conducted the surprise check was led by tehsildar Udhampur Dr Javed Iqbal Rather and other members of the team were AD FCS&CA Haroon Naik, Tehsil Supply Officer Udhampur, Gyan Khajuria and SHO Udhampur O P Chib.
The team made a surprise check in the main market and it noticed violations like non display of rate list by some shopkeepers, over charging and use of domestic cylinders in some shops. A fine of Rs 16,900 was realised on spot from the defaulters. The team also destroyed the rotten vegetables and fruits in the market.
