‘Display Your Talent 2025’ by JU begins in Ravi & Pir Panjal Zones

JAMMU, Nov 17: The two-day cultural festival ‘Display Your Talent 2025 – Ravi Zone & Pir Panjal Zone’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Kathua Campus and Government PG College Rajouri, commenced today.
At Kathua Campus, the inaugural ceremony unfolded amid great fervour as students from nearly 25 colleges of the Ravi Zone gathered to take part in 24 competitions across music, dance, literary arts, fine arts and theatre. The event was graced by Prof Monika Chadha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee of JU, as the chief guest, and Prof Sarika Manhas, Co-Chairperson, as the guest of honour. Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus and other key dignitaries also attended the programme.
A distinguished judging panel evaluated the performances on Day One. For Group Song (Indian), Jai Dogra Song, Light Vocal Solo, Classical Vocal Solo and Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion), the judges were Suraj Singh, Dr Chankya Sharma and Bhadur Singh. Narinder Wazir and Andrew judged the Western Group Song and Western Vocal Solo competitions.
The observers for the day were Dr Rajbir Singh and Ashwin Kumar Kushwaha. Among the attendees were Dr Vivek Sharma, Academic Coordinator; Dr Sourabh Shastri, I/c Head MCA; Dr Pankaj Khajuria, Assistant Registrar; faculty members of Kathua Campus, besides faculty members, staff and students from various degree colleges of Ravi Zone.
Simultaneously, at Government PG College Rajouri, the Pir Panjal Zone programme opened with a lamp-lighting ceremony followed by a welcome address by Dr Zakir Hussain Kalis, Cultural Coordinator. Prof Prakash C Antahal, Dean Students Welfare, JU, presided as chief guest, while Prof Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College, delivered the presidential address.
The inaugural day at Rajouri featured colourful performances including Indian Group Song, Jai Dogra Song, Light Vocal Solo, Painting, Poster Making, Collage Making, Skit and Mimicry. The jury comprised Dr Sanjeet Kumar, Mohit Kumar, Subash Jamwal and Rajinder Kumar Narang. Prominent attendees included Dr A R Manhas, Dr Vimal Kishore, Dr P P Singh and Dr Riaz Ahmed Mirza.
