Direct Vande Bharat Train To Run Between Srinagar And Jammu From March 1

New Delhi, Feb 24: Northern Railway has announced extension of the Vande Bharat Express service to provide direct connectivity between Srinagar and Jammu from March 1, 2026.
As per an official communication issued by Northern Railway, SVDK-SINA-SVDK Vande Bharat Express will be extended up to Jammu Tawi with effect from March 1.
The service, which was earlier operating between Srinagar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, will now run directly between Srinagar and Jammu.
Railway authorities have also revised the composition of the train, increasing the coach strength from the existing 8-coach Vande Bharat rake to a 20-coach rake in view of expected passenger demand.
The extension is aimed at enhancing rail connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir and providing improved travel experience to passengers commuting between the Valley and the Jammu region. (KNC)
