JAMMU, May 1: The Jammu unit of All J&K Diploma Engineers’ Association (DEA) today highlighted its demands in a meeting held under the president ship of Upinder Singh.
The meeting strongly condemned the callous attitude of the administration towards Diploma Engineers and expressed its resentment over the dilly dallying tactics in resolving the genuine demands of Diploma Engineers.
While speaking on the occasion, Upinder Singh said though the association has submitted a number of memorandums to the Minister of all Engineering Wings including Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh on November 11, 2016 demanding adoption of Punjab pattern in removing the stagnation of Diploma Engineers’ at the level of Junior Engineer’s and implementation of Establishment cum Select Committee report but nothing much of the progress has been made in PDD to resolve these issues even after a lapse of five months and that too when Deputy CM has himself assured the association that their concern shall be addressed soon.
JS Rathore, convener, DEA, while addressing the meeting, regretted that the Diploma Engineers are being deprived of their genuine quota of 20% in promotion in PDD at the behest of some Degree Engineers who have every access to the corridor of power. He demanded immediate release of 65 left over post at the level of Assistant Engineer in favour of Diploma Engineer’s under career progression scheme on the analogy of R&B (Civil) and Hydraaulic Wings.
Chairman, DEA, Anil Gupta, demanded maintenance of cadre strength at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineers, as there is huge shortfall of Diploma Engineers at these posts. He further appealed Deputy CM to fulfill his commitment made to the association by resolving its genuine demands.
