DIG UR Range chairs Ops-cum-crime review meeting

UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sarah Rizvi, chaired an Ops-cum-crime review meeting at DPL Udhampur to review crime, security preparedness and police functioning in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Udhampur Amod Ashok Nagpure, Addl SP Udhampur, DySPs, SDPOs, Prosecution Officer, SHOs and In-charge Police Posts.
A station-wise review of crime trends, investigations and case disposal was conducted. Focus areas included drug trafficking, organized crime, OGW activities, militant threats, cybercrime and crimes against women.
DIG UR Range directed zero tolerance to crime, quality investigation, timely completion of cases, effective prosecution, prompt grievance redressal and early disposal of departmental enquiries.
Emphasis was laid on heightened vigil against militant activity, strengthened intelligence, highway surveillance, naka checking and intensified patrolling. Republic Day security arrangements were reviewed with directions for area domination and inter-agency coordination.
Targets for 2026 include improving conviction rate, achieving a Drug-Free District, targeting criminal finances, strengthening intelligence and highway security, and improving response to cybercrime and crimes against women.
