KATHUA, Dec 17: In view of the prevailing security scenario, Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG JSK Range, along with senior police and security officers, today reviewed the ongoing operational preparedness in Billawar area of Kathua district.
The DIG was accompanied by Mohita Sharma, SSP Kathua; Varinder Manhas, SSP Samba; DySP Arjun Singh Chib; SP Operations Billawar Amir; Mukund, SP Operations Kathua; CO CRPF; SDPO Billawar and SHO Billawar.
The review was conducted in the backdrop of the recent firing incident reported in the Soan area of district Udhampur.
The officers also visited Kamla Top in Billawar to assess ground-level security arrangements.
During the review, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma stressed the need for maintaining peace and security across the region and directed all officers to remain extra vigilant.
He emphasized strong coordination among all security agencies to effectively deal with any future challenges.
The DIG reviewed the deployment of forces and instructed that additional manpower be deployed in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incident.
He also underlined the importance of intelligence collection and timely sharing of information to counter potential security threats.
The DIG interacted with jawans deployed on ground and appreciated their efforts, boosting their morale.
He further reviewed the overall law and order situation and assessed the preparedness of the police force in terms of manpower and resources.
Officers were directed to ensure high visibility in their respective areas and intensify patrolling and security checks.
SSP Kathua briefed the DIG about the current security scenario and the measures taken to maintain peace and law and order in Billawar.
During the visit, the DIG also held a joint meeting with Army authorities and assured them of full cooperation from the Jammu and Kashmir Police in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
