JAMMU, Nov 30: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, today conducted a detailed security review of various Ring Road locations in Jammu and Samba districts.
A statement said that the DIG JSK Range was accompanied by SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma, SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Bopinder Singh during his visit to Sikandarpur Kothey, RS Pura, Bishnah, Phallain Mandal, and Vijaypur areas.
As per the statement, Sharma also visited the under-construction toll plaza at Sardaray Chak in Jammu, where he interacted with the construction team and discussed the security plans for the toll plaza.
He instructed the company representatives to meet key security requirements, such as installing CCTV cameras, setting up a police post, building a bunker, establishing a police morcha, and ensuring proper lighting.
Additionally, the DIG JSK Range led a public awareness program, urging the local residents to report any suspicious activities, including terrorism, bovine smuggling, drug trafficking, cybercrimes, or any criminal activities on the Ring Road, to the nearest police station or post.
He assured the public that Jammu and Kashmir Police is always prepared to handle any incidents and serve the community.
DIG Sharma also emphasized the importance of addressing public grievances promptly and sharing important contact numbers of police stations with the public.
He directed officers to carry out regular crime control patrols and take strict action against criminals.
Officers were further instructed to maintain alertness and professionalism while performing their duties along the Ring Road, at naka points, and other vulnerable areas.
The DIG also emphasized the need for enhanced surveillance of antisocial and anti-national elements along the Ring Road.
