DIG JSK Range reviews operational preparedness along Samba-Kathua Border

SAMBA/KATHUA, Jan 14: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma today reviewed the operational preparedness of the police and other security forces along the Samba-Kathua Border in view of the dense fog and adverse weather conditions.
During his visit to the border areas, the DIG JSK Range assessed the ground arrangements, which are considered vulnerable during low visibility conditions that could be exploited by the miscreants.
He interacted with personnel deployed at Border Police Posts and with the Border Security Force, appreciating their efforts in difficult conditions.
He directed all officers to remain on high alert, maintain close coordination with the BSF and keep the Police Control Room regularly updated about the situation on the ground.
The DIG JSK Range also checked the readiness of Quick Reaction Teams and instructed them to be prepared for immediate action on any suspicious input.
He appealed to residents of border villages in Samba, Kathua and adjoining areas to cooperate with security agencies by promptly sharing information about any suspicious movement or activity.
He urged people to contact the nearest police post or police station without delay, stressing that public cooperation is essential for maintaining peace and security along the border.
