JAMMU, May 9: DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, today conducted an extensive security check across key areas of Jammu city.
He was accompanied by SP City North Vivek Shekhar, SDPO City Jammu, SHO Police Station City, and other senior officers.
A statement said the security check covered Panjtirthi, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, Mubarak Mandi, Pacca Danga, Lakhdata Bazar, Kachchi Chawni, Kanak Mandi, and surrounding areas.
During the visit, the officers interacted with shopkeepers, senior citizens, tourists, and other members of the public, it said.
The police team urged citizens to cooperate with Jammu and Kashmir Police and the civil administration by following all advisories issued for public safety.
The DIG assured the people that the police force is always ready to serve and protect the public.
Meanwhile, police have asked the public to share any important information on helpline numbers of PCR Jammu (9419255283), PCR Samba (9541649001), PCR Kathua (9858034100), and Traffic Control Unit Jammu (9419147732). Police have also advised the public to dial 112 for immediate assistance.
