UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: Sarah Rizvi, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, today chaired a crime review meeting at District Police Lines (DPL) Udhampur.
The meeting was attended by SSP Udhampur, Amod Nagpure, Addl. SP Udhampur Sandeep Bhat, Abhijeet Sirohi, Darshan Singh, Sr. PO DPO Udhampur along with SDPOs, PO DPO Udhampur and all SHOs of District Udhampur.
During the meeting SSP Udhampur presented a comprehensive briefing on various agenda points, outlining the recent achievements of District Udhampur.
He also presented an overall assessment of the district’s performance in handling other allied matters.
DIG reviewed the status of NDPS cases with special thrust on crime against women and old pending cases.
Progress of timeline cases was also reviewed in detail.
Other issues discussed included inquest proceedings, implementation of new criminal laws, trial in absentia, E-Sakshya, E-Summons/Warrants, Zero FIR, e-FIR, FSL visits, community service and missing persons cases.
SDPOs from various sub-divisions presented detailed updates regarding case disposal and highlighted comparative progress achieved within their jurisdictions, particularly in NDPS and other heinous cases.
DIG directed officers to ensure timely execution of court processes and to expedite the investigation of pending cases.
She stressed the importance of sustained efforts to curb drug abuse, narcotics trafficking and other criminal activities.
DIG further directed officers to enhance vehicle checking, conduct surprise naka, increase patrolling and ensure strict challaning of violators to strengthen preventive policing.
She urged officers to perform their duties with commitment and dedication to further strengthen policing at the grassroots level.
SSP Udhampur assured that all directions and instructions would be implemented effectively on the ground.
