DIET conducts training of teachers under Adolescence Education Prog

JAMMU, Mar 18: District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Jammu today organized one-day training of teachers under Adolescence Education Programme by J&K AIDS Control Society in collaboration with JKBOSE.
The program started with the bouquet presentation by Principal Roshan Lal and lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries namely Director Academics JKBOSE Prof Sudhir Singh, Joint Director SCERT Jammu Division H R Pakhroo, Deputy Director Academics JKBOSE Yasir Hamid Sirwal and Assistant Secretary JKBOSE Rajesh Singh.
The objectives of Adolescence Training Programme were delivered by Sugandh, Senior Lecturer followed by sessions on HIV/ AIDS Modes of Transmission, Myths and Misconceptions, Life Skills and HIV Prevention by Prof Dr Meena Sidhu, HoD Blood Transfusion Medicine GMC Jammu and other eminent Resource persons Shifali Gupta, Senior Lecturer, Dr Alka Sharma, teacher, who delivered insightful sessions on Adolescent and Reproductive Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse and Exploring Life skills.
The training program was attended by 200 teachers from different schools of all 15 zones of District Jammu who will act as ambassadors in their schools and zones to implement the learning of the trainings in the field. The participants showed keen interest in making this AEP implemented fully in all schools enriching adolescents and achieving sustainable developmental goal along with four G20 themes. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Coordinator Tripta Manyal, HOD.
