JAMMU, Jan 31: The District Hospital Kathua is in shambles and patients coming here for the treatment are facing many problems so far as basic facilities are concerned.
The road leading to emergency ward is in dilapidated condition having many ditches due to which the patients being taken there are put to a grave trouble.
The unhygienic conditions have created health hazards in the Hospital as garbage remains scattered every where and the patients going there for treatment apprehend that instead of getting treated they may be caught by any serious infection.
Many patients are referred to GMC Jammu due to lack of medicines in the Hospital.
MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia said that a number of development works are to be undertaken in the Hospital and the construction of Emergency Ward and road with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh has been sanctioned but no contractor is coming forward to work.
