DGP sanctions over Rs 1.77 cr welfare loan, relief

JAMMU, May 24: The Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain has sanctioned a welfare loan/relief and financial assistance of over Rs 1.77 crore in favour of 180 police personnel.
As per an order issued by PHQ, Rs 1.10 crore as welfare loan has been released in favour of 72 police personnel for the purpose of their and their dependants’ medical treatment while Rs 22 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 17 police personnel for the purpose of their and their wards’ marriage. Another Rs 1.5 lakh has been sanctioned for the higher education of police official’s ward.
A welfare relief of Rs 11.30 lakh has also been sanctioned in favour of 37 police personnel.
Another order issued by the PHQ said that the DGP has sanctioned a welfare relief of Rs 15.40 lakh in favour of 42 retired/NoK of the deceased personnel for the purpose of medical treatment, wards’ marriage, or to ease up their financial distress.
The DGP has also sanctioned financial assistance/medical relief of Rs 16.98 lakh in favour of 48 SPOs who are engaged with the J&K Police in different districts.
