JAMMU, Mar 6: Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid today said that strengthening the telecommunication system of police is always on priority for ensuring prompt redressal of public grievances.
Dr Vaid said while reviewing the functioning of Telecommunication Wing of JKP and progress registered in adopting the latest technologies in strengthening the communication network across the State.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Vaid sought reports from the concerned officers about the present status of communication system and discussed various issues related to the existing network, up-gradation, digitization and better connectivity among all the wings of police organization.
DGP stressed upon the officers to use modern technology for optimal use for better deliverance to the public, adding that communication system should be regularly up-graded and monitored.
He impressed upon the officers for automation of telecommunication network at various levels and take opportunity of modern tools for up-gradation of system. He asked for strict implementation of various high tech projects including CCTNS at police station level for convenience of the public. He asked for proper supervision by the senior officers for monitoring the progress on daily basis and sharing the same with senior officers for strengthening the network.
DGP said that for quick disposal of public grievances and redressal of public problems, better communication network would help to ease the problems of public and save precious time for speedy disposal of cases.
Earlier, Director Telecom, Hilal Ahmed Shah, gave a detailed power point presentation on the working of existing system and other issues with regard to up-gradation of network, equipping the units with modern tools and other administrative issues of the wing.
Among others, the meeting was attended by IGPs, Sunil Kumar, SL Sharma, JP Singh, Surinder Kumar, Director Prosecution, Pawan Gupta, AIGPs, JA Koul, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Mubassir Laifi, Sameer Rekhi and Kulbir Singh, SSPs (Telecom), RK Dhar, DP Singh and Sr. ADO, Nasir Khan.
