JAMMU, Dec 21: Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, today visited the Crime Branch J&K headquarters here to review the wing’s performance and streamline investigative priorities for the coming year.
The DGP was received by Sujit Kumar, Inspector General of Police (Crime/Security), before conducting a thorough inspection of the various wings housed within the Crime Branch complex.
Following the inspection, the DGP chaired a high-level review meeting attended by senior leadership, including DIG Crime Branch J&K Abdul Qayoom, Joint Director Prosecution Laeeq Ahmed Dar, and several Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs).
During the session, a specialized booklet titled “Cyber Shield” was officially released by the DGP.
The launch was accompanied by a comprehensive presentation detailing the Crime Branch’s achievements in 2025, specifically regarding the high disposal rates of both FIRs and public complaints.
The meeting saw participation from both Jammu and Srinagar divisions, with SSP EOW Kashmir Abdul Waheed Shah and SSP SCW Kashmir Muzaffar Ahmed Shah joining via video conference.
Addressing the officers, DGP Nalin Prabhat appreciated the technical milestones achieved by the wing but issued firm directives to further intensify efforts in resolving pending investigations.
To boost morale, the DGP presented awards to several officers for their outstanding performance during the year.
The awardees included DySP Vishal Sharma from EOW Jammu, DySP Albeena Malik from CICE J&K, DySP Bhagwan Dass from SCW Jammu, DySP Jagpal Sharma from NAFIS, and Inspectors Ashwani Kumar and Gurnam Choudhary.
Among the senior police officers who attended the meeting included SSP EOW Jammu Mohammad Fiesel Qureshi, SSP Fingerprint Bureau J&K Mohammad Yousif, SSP CICE J&K Ramnish Gupta, SSP ANTF J&K Mohammad Anwal-ul-Haq, SSP SCW Jammu Sanjay Parihar, SP Fingerprint Bureau Jammu Noor-ul-Hassan, and SP Mohammad Shafi SO to IGP Crime J&K.
The visit concluded with a vote of thanks by DIG Abdul Qayoom, who reaffirmed the department’s commitment to implementing the DGP’s directions for enhanced criminal justice delivery.
