JAMMU, Feb 12: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today granted scholarship in favour of 10 wards of martyred police personnel, who laid down their lives in militancy related incidents in the State.
Rupees twelve thousand have been sanctioned for a ward who is pursuing engineering and rupees ten thousand each have been sanctioned for seven wards studying in graduation level courses. Similarly rupees twenty-four hundred each have been sanctioned for two wards of a martyred police personnel studying in class 2nd and 4th primary.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund for the academic year 2017-2018. The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of police martyrs to provide them assistance in pursuing education.
Meanwhile, DGP Dilbag Singh issued promotion orders in favour of 12 Sub Inspectors and in-situ promotion in favour of 30 officers today.
Eleven Sub-Inspectors from Armed Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been promoted to the rank of Inspectors and one Sub Inspector from J&K Auxiliary Police has been promoted.
DGP also issued in-situ promotion order in respect of thirty officers who include two DySsP, twenty four Inspectors and four Sub Inspectors.
The promotion orders were issued after Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) cleared these personnel for the promotions.
DGP has expressed hope that the promoted officials will continue to work with more zeal and zest.
