DF&SS protests against SMVD Medical College admissions

JAMMU, Nov 27: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of its president, Ashok Gupta took out a massive protest rally in Jammu city against sinister plot of giving admission to 42 Muslim student in SMVDU Medical College.
When minority institutions across India reserve 50% to 90% of their seats for students of their own community, it is natural to ask whether institutions run by Hindu temple trusts should not also safeguard the sentiments and representation of the Hindu community, said Ashok Gupta.
He said institutions built and sustained by the Hindu society-especially those powered by the donations, faith and devotion of millions of pilgrims-are not merely academic centers but symbols of culture, service, and spiritual heritage. This is why Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) and its Medical College under the Shrine Board carry a deep social and religious significance.
The entire functioning of the Shrine Board is supported by the faith, offerings and contributions of crores of Hindu devotees. Apart from pilgrimage management, the Board also contributes to education and healthcare. SMVDU and its Medical College are extensions of this legacy.
Gupta stated that BOPEE is an institution which selects the students and then send the name to the University as soon as the SMVDU read the names of the 42 Muslim students they came in to action and repertoire there protests towards the list. He further stated that it is the JK BOPEE who has sent the list deliberately of Muslim students for admission in SMVDU.
This is a sinister plot to create a divide among the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu.
At last he said that JK BOPEE is responsible for the entire debacle along with the UT Government, The students should be transferred to the Kashmir based college and Hindu students shall be given admission in the SMVDU.
Those who took part in the protest included Raju, Bantu, Ganesh, Parveen, Ajay, Prem, Vikky, Kalu, Rampal, Naresh, Abhishek and others.
