JAMMU, June 28: Workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS) under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta here today took out a protest rally against poor water and power supply in the region.
The protesters were carrying empty buckets.
Addressing protesters, Gupta said that strike by daily wagers of Jal Shakti Department (JSD) has collapsed the water supply in the entire Jammu region which has thrown the life of people out of gear.
He said that since last eight days there is no water supply in Jammu.
The DF&SS leader stated that functioning of the JSD has been transferred to the Jammu municipal Corporation (JMC) which lacks infrastructure and manpower to run the Department while in Kashmir no such thing has been done.
He also said that Amarnath Yatra is starting from June 29 and water crisis in Jammu may act as a source of embarrassment.
Gupta appealed to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to resolve the issues of PHE daily wagers.
He demanded a direct electricity feeder line to all pumping stations so that there is no shortage of electricity at such stations.
Ashish, Deepu, Amit, Naresh, Sushma, Sunita, Satya, Prem, Abhishek and others were also present in the protest.
