Sir,
In reference to the points highlighted by Mahadeep Singh Jamwal about Devika Project in DE Oct 21, 2017. The writer deserves kudos for making very useful suggestions needed to be viewed in right perspective before undertaking the sacred cause of revival and cleaning up of Devika. I want to add one more point that at present whatever water is seen at Devika ghat is the sequel of entering polluted water from drains which could neither be cleaned nor sanctity restored. When drains diverted , it is obvious, Devika shall be completely dried. In order to provide water at Devika ghat the modalities are required to be worked out to invent the source of supply of water. In case water is not made available at Devika ghat whole the exercise would go futile. The possibility of creating dug wells or bringing Devika water from Venisangh confluence through pipes should be considered with expertise opinion . We have the example of Ganges Cleaning Project where public perception is not to allow filtered and cleaned water from various factories and sewages to enter Ganga. The public is demanding to use that water for irrigation purpose only. The concerned authorities are requested that Project may not be left aim less at the preponderance of its luck which may break mid way. A transparent road map be got prepared and made public before its execution.
Yours etc…
