UDHAMPUR, Apr 4: Arrangements to celebrate historic 3-day Baisakhi Mela at the sacred Devika Ghat, Udhampur were discussed at a meeting of officers of various departments and members of Baisakhi Mela Committe under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Vikas Sharma, here today.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rajeev Magotra, X-En PHE, N. Khan, District Information officer, Dr Ashwani Hansa, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Arun Sharma besides others attended the meeting.
Detailed discussions regarding arrangements of security, drinking water and power supply, barricading, first-aid, sanitation, checking of rates, quality of food items, cultural programme etc. were held and directions were issued to concerned officers to ensure fool-proof arrangements in time.
The Mela will be held for three days with effect from April 14 to 16, 2015 and Tehsildar, Udhampur would be the Mela Officer.
For the awareness of common masses about different Government sponsored schemes, department stalls will be established by various departments.
