KISHTWAR, Oct 23: About 130 Madrassa students had a narrow escape when a massive fire broke out here today at an old building housing Madrassa Saraj Ul Aloom in mountainous Chatroo area near Guzaar Pul.
Sources informed that the ill fated building earlier served as IGNOU centre and the Madrassa students were not present in the building at the time of fire.
Immediately after getting the information of fire, locals of the area with the help of cops from Police Station Chatroo and Jawans from 11 RR A Coy started an operation to douse the flames and fire tenders were also pressed into service.
No loss of life has been reported in the incident till last reports but belongings in the Madrassa were gutted and the building also suffered heavy loss in the blaze.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
