JAMMU, Jan 18: Despite orders from Duty Magistrate (Sub-Judge Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity Jammu), Janipur Police is reluctant to arrest the culprits involved in shady Rs 50 lakh Trikuta Nagar land deal.
According to the complainant Swaran Kumar, son of Kharati Lal, resident of Jawahar Nagar New Plots, he entered into deal with one Krishan Chand, son of Kalu Ram of village Deoli in R S Pura tehsil vis-à-vis land measuring 12 marlas falling under Khasra No.138 min, Khata No 1 min and Khewat No. 30 min situated at Railway Road, Trikuta Nagar.
Two property dealers namely Chhankar Singh, son of Karnail Singh of Kameshwar Temple, Akhnoor and Pritam Singh, son of Bari Singh, resident of 135 Subash Nagar, Jammu acted as mediator between Swaran Kumar and Krishan Chand and deal was finalized at Rs 50 lakh.
After going through the documents of the land shown by all the three persons, Swaran Kumar entered into agreement to sell and an amount of Rs 6 lakh—-Rs 4 lakh by cheque and Rs 2 lakh cash was given to Krishan Chand.
However, at the later stage complainant came to know that one Raman Kumar, son of Ram Rattan of Sanjay Nagar impersonated as Krishan Chand, actual owner of the land, during the whole deal.
On this, complainant approached Janipur Police Station in whose jurisdiction the payment was made and agreement to sell was prepared but SHO Inspector Manzoor Kohli refused to lodge the FIR. This compelled the complainant to knock the doors of Duty Magistrate (Sub-Judge Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity Jammu), who after going through the complaint, directed Janipur Police Station to lodge the FIR under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 RPC and 120-B against all the three accused persons.
Though FIR was lodged on January 15 but till date none of the accused was arrested by the Janipur Police Station for the obvious reasons. Despite repeated requests by the complainant for the recovery of money from the accused, the SHO refused to act. His conduct is notwithstanding the fact that transaction of money paid by the complainant was brought to the notice of SHO a number of times during the past three days.
When contacted, SHO confirmed that none was arrested in the case but he refused to divulge the reasons behind the same.
