‘Desperate’ Chinese COVID 19 vaccine

Plummeting to such levels to force sale of its COVID-19 vaccine, China has made it compulsory for Indians and people from additional 19 nations intending to travel to China to get their locally manufactured vaccines . This pre-condition is half baked as firstly their vaccines are not available in India and secondly, this gimmick is the demonstration of the Chinese desperation in claiming that their vaccine was more safe and reliable. Though Chinese Foreign Minister denied the move being in any way linked to getting recognition of Chinese vaccines yet there being neither any Chinese made vaccines available in India nor such arrangement finalised on bilateral basis, the move seems ill advised . What does it mean that merely notices are posted on the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi?
It may be noted that World Health Organisation (WHO) is yet to recognise the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine unlike the one produced by Serum Institute in Pune in the name of Covishield. However, there are thousands of Indian students and professionals working in China but their family members in India awaiting China to permit their return and with this new condition but without providing their vaccine in India for such specific cases, looks all confusing which China needs to look into. It would be better to permit entry only after the intending entrants having been vaccinated, no matter of which country’s make.
