JAMMU, Nov 9: Deputation of BJP Kashmir Displaced District met Divisional Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal here today.
The deputation which apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the corrections in the Electoral Rolls of Displaced KPs was headed by its president Chand Jee Bhat, accompanied by PL Dhar, general secretary.
The specific points which were brought to the notice of Divisional Commissioner were with regard to correction in the names, date of birth and residential addresses.
The deputation said that more astonishing is the fact that photographs of females are sometimes conceived on the male Epic Cards and vice-versa.
The deputation requested Dr Kotwal to take initiative with regard to completing the formalities with regard to completion of Epic Cards in Jammu rather than in Srinagar to avoid further discrepancy in the Electoral Rolls.
The deputation further said that this lackadaisical approach of the Electoral Agencies in the past has deprived the Community of its franchise.
Dr Kotwal after giving patient hearing to the suggestions of the deputation assured it that he will take the issue with concerned Electoral Officers to see as to what could be done for setting the record right for the welfare of the displaced community.
