JAMMU, Nov 3: One day national seminar on the topic ‘Critical Vision of Daccani Poets”, was organized by the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, here today.
Prof Massod Siraj, Chairman, Department of Urdu, Mysore University; Dr Shamas Kamal Anjum, HoD Arabic and Persian BSGU, Rajouri; Prof Quodse Javeed, former HoD Urdu Kashmir University and Prof M A Wani, acted as Resource Persons of the seminar.
The seminar was inaugurated by Registrar JU, Prof Keshav Sharma, who said that Urdu has united India from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari. Prof Masood Siraj evaluated the work of the Daccan poet Wali and Nusrati, Ibne Nishant and quoted the verses to prove that these poets had a great critical vision also.
Dr Shamas Kamal Anjum informed that critical views in Urdu were given by the Arabic language through Persian language. Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Urdu, strongly criticized the fundamentalist force for relating Urdu with a particular religion.
