Delhi lifts 7th North Zone Cricket Tournament for deaf title

JAMMU, Apr 24: Getting the better of J&K Deaf Cricket team by 28 runs in summit clash, Delhi Deaf Cricket team lifted the title for 7th North Zone Cricket tournament for Deaf at Science College Cricket Ground, here.
Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed trophies and other prizes among the winners and the runners-up teams in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council, Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player and Member Sports Council Jammu, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club and Member J&K State Sports Council, Pranav Gupta, DySP and Surinder Megan, President Delhi Deaf Cricket Association.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Delhi Deaf Cricket team won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 185 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, J&K Deaf Cricket team managed to score 157 runs in 19.3 overs, thus lost the match by 28 runs.
Dheeraj Prasad of Delhi XI was adjudged as the man of the match and best batsman, Mohammad Shafi was declared as the best bowler, while Dheeraj Prasad of Delhi XI was declared as the man of the series.
In his address, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the J&K Deaf Cricket Association in conducting this mega event.
The tournament was organized by J&K Deaf Cricket Association with the support of J&K Police, J&K Sports Council and Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association.
