Delegations of Plus 2 Lecturers meet Sakina Itoo, submit memorandums

JAMMU, Feb 5: Delegations of All J&K +2 Lecturers ‘ Forum and All J&K Plus 2 PSC Lecturers Form separately called on Education Minister Sakina Itoo at the Civil Secretariat and submitted her memorandum of demands.
Delegation of the Plus 2 Lecturers Forum comprised of Pardeep Singh Rakwal, president Jammu division; Mohd Younus Gurezi (forum president for Kashmir division), Dr Manzoor Ahmed, Chairman Schoool Education Employees Co-ordination Committee (SEECC) and R S Salathia, Chairman.
The issue of regularisation of Incharge Lecturers prominently figured in the meet with the Minister. The Minister was apprised that regularisation of Incharge lecturers was not going to put any additional burden on the financial health of the state exchequer as they were already working against the vacant sanctioned posts of Lecturers.
Reacting to the issue, Sakina Masood Itoo purportedly directed Additional Chief Secretary ( Administrative Secretary School Education Department), Shantmanu to put up the file of regularisation of Incharge Lecturers for convening DPC meet .
The other issues that were raised by the delegation in the memorandum, included filling up of vacant posts of Principals by promoting Senior Lecturers, grant of ACP, repatriation of Lecturers and left-out Principals from Zone 5 and other districts, removal of Lookafter/ Incharge tag from Principals, provision of vacational status to Principals and regularisation of Principals.
Meanwhile, another delegation of +2 PSC Lecturers’ Association, led by its president Manjeet Chib , also called on Minister for Education and submitted a memorandum.
The delegations said that Plus 2 Lecturers appointed through (JKPSC) in direct quota are the worst affected lot having no promotional avenues whereas the provisions of TBP/NFP are available to everyone down the hierarchy in the Department of School Education.
Chib urged the Minister that the issue of career progression of +2 Lecturers should be examined on the parameters which are applied for other employees seeking ACP and +2 lecturers should not be treated step motherly.
The delegation then also met Shantmanu, Principal Secretary Education and urged to order transfer of those +2 lecturers who have health issues and are serving in remote areas since long. The delegation also raised the issue of vacational status for +2 Principals.
