Delegations call on LG Ladakh

LEH, Feb 5: A delegation led by former MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and another from Ladakh Students Welfare Society Delhi (LSWSD) called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), in New Delhi.
In the meeting with the LG, the former MP led delegation comprising Chairperson of Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohammad Ali Majaz; Councillor, GM Pore, Syed Ali and Councillor, Barsoo, Gh Mohmad, highlighted the need for better connectivity for the convenience of the people of Barsoo.
The delegates apprised the LG of the ongoing work on the construction of the road in Barsoo under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to connect the unconnected habitations in the constituency. They requested the LG’s intervention in the completion of the road at the earliest for the ease and convenience of the people of Barsoo.
The LG assured the delegates that necessary instructions would be passed on to the concerned officials for the early completion of the road.
The delegation from LSWSD comprising Stanzin Galdan, Nawang Namgyal, Nusrat Fatima and Stanzin Deskong informed the LG of various activities carried out by them for the welfare and benefit of students from Ladakh studying in Delhi.
They apprised the LG of their plan to conduct the annual Losar celebrations- Gaston 2025 and requested him to allocate funds for it, and also asked the LG to attend the event as the chief guest.
The LG appreciated the initiative taken by LSWSD and informed them that he would ask the CECs to take due care of their genuine requirements.
