Delegation of Pvt schools meets Secretary SED, highlights issues

JAMMU, July 2: To appraise about the difficulties being faced by the private schools, a delegation of Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Association met with the Secretary of School Education, Ram Niwas Sharma at Srinagar and submitted him a memorandum.
President of the association, Ajay Gupta highlighted the problems which have been erupted due to the non availability of online services since May 07, 2025 on the sites of SEDJKUT, JKBOSE & DSEJ. He also elaborated serious concern for the non adaptation of newly added clauses in sub rule 3 of SRO123 as (a) and (b) of SRO 292 of 2018 (amended) for the quick disposal of the files in time bound manner by JKBOSE and Education Department.
He briefed that a new procedures to grant permission to establish, run, maintain or extend the permission of a private school has been laid in circular number 02-SED of 2022 on 10-02-2022, according to which a clarification from CID, that there is no criminal case pending against the school is needed. “But instead of clarification about the school, CID has devised a format not only to verify the antecedents of the members involved in the managing committee but also kith and kins of the involved members with the result people from the civil society are least bothered to become member because the details which CID seeks include complete bio data along with income details, facebook/ Twitter profile (User name, email ID), sources of income, property details, family details (father/mother/brother/ sister name, age, occupation), close friends circle details etc,” he added.
Secretary School Education gave a patient hearing and said that SED is planning to grant permanent recognition to all such schools having good infrastructure. He also gave assurance that a mechanism will be generated to coincide the validity of all essential documents with the time of period of recognition. He said that there will be no penalties to any of the school as quick audit is going on to restore online services while the problem related to the CID verification will also be settled after discussion with DSEJ.
