JAMMU, Apr 21: Central body members of J&K Private Schools Association today called on Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma and discussed with him their genuine demands.
The Association members, led by Rameshwar Mengi, Vice President JKPSA, also submitted a memorandum to the Director School Education.
General Secretary of the Association Ajay Gupta briefed to the Director that to prevent exploitation of the students by the unrecognized schools, to facilitate smooth transfer of the students from one recognized school to another and to prevent commercialization of education, there was a set procedure for confirmation of results. Since 2015 onwards, confirmation of result of all private schools was done on the fixed parameters by all the CEOs and ZEOs of Jammu division in accordance to the directions given to them by the Director School Education, Jammu time to time, he added.
“However, all the CEOs of Jammu division are now issuing order on countersign the results of private schools on their own whims with number of formalities varying from district to district,” Ajay Gupta said and urged the Director to save private schools from harassment and exploitation.
The Association demanded a circular on fixed parameters for the countersignature / authentication / confirmation of result of private schools for the academic session 2021-22. They also demanded a mechanism of recognition in accordance to the provision laid in SRO 123 of March18, 2010 to curb the menace of pre-primary/ nursery schools which are still left unbridled.
Director School Education gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured the members that Government was keen to frame a policy to bring a transparent system to stop unwanted mushrooming, exploitation & harassment. He also promised to issue an order for confirmation of result of Private schools for the Academic Session 2021-22.
